Refrigerant supply across Telangana's industrial clusters
Why Hyderabad concentrates refrigerant demand
Three things put unusual cooling load on this region. The first is the industrial mix: pharmaceutical and bulk-drug manufacture is heavily represented here, and that industry cools more or less everything — reactors, cleanrooms, stability chambers, finished-goods cold rooms.
The second is climate. Hyderabad sits in a tropical wet-and-dry zone with a long hot season running March to June, when daytime highs approach and sometimes exceed 40°C before the monsoon breaks. That is the period when marginal systems fail, when leak-prone plant is topped up, and when servicing demand for refrigerant peaks sharply.
The third is that a great deal of the installed base is old. Equipment commissioned in the 1990s and 2000s on R-22 is still running, still legal to run, and still needs gas, which is exactly the servicing tail the phase-down provides for. What that means for R-22 buyers is set out separately.
The pharmaceutical corridor
The life-sciences belt runs north-west of the city. Genome Valley at Shamirpet is India's first organised life-sciences cluster, home to more than 200 companies across research, biologics and vaccine manufacture, per the Telangana Life Sciences department. Hyderabad Pharma City at Mucherla in Ranga Reddy district is being developed as a very large dedicated pharmaceutical estate to the south.
Between them sit the older bulk-drug and formulation clusters — Jeedimetla, Balanagar, Bollaram, Patancheru, Pashamylaram, Gaddapotharam and the Medak and Sangareddy corridors. These are where a large part of the region's process cooling actually runs.
What they buy: R-134a and R-407C for chillers, R-410A for cleanroom and comfort systems, R-404A for low-temperature cold rooms, and R-22 for the legacy chiller plant that has not yet been replaced. What they need beyond the gas is documentation — batch traceability and Safety Data Sheets that will stand up in a GMP audit. Pharmaceutical supply in detail.
Data centres, and a market that doubled
Hyderabad has become one of India's fastest-growing data-centre markets. Knight Frank India's 2025 market update records live capacity rising from 60.9 MW in 2022 to 151.4 MW by the end of 2025, with a committed and early-stage pipeline running to roughly 1.9 GW — second in the country only to Mumbai.
Data-centre cooling is unlike anything else on this list, because the load never falls away. There is no seasonal shoulder and no night-time relief; the plant runs continuously and an outage has contractual consequences. Chilled-water plants and DX CRAC units in this segment run mainly on R-134a and R-410A, with newer chillers moving toward lower-GWP options.
The commercial implication for supply is simply continuity: an AMC contractor holding a data-centre account cannot be told a gas is out of stock. Data-centre supply in detail.
Cold chain, dairy and food
Telangana's agricultural and food-processing base (seed processing, poultry, dairy and the cold stores that serve them) is the region's other major low-temperature load. Bulk milk coolers, blast freezers, ice plants and cold rooms run predominantly on R-404A, with R-134a and R-407C in mid-temperature duty and ammonia in the larger bulk plants.
This segment is unusually sensitive to gas availability, because a cold store cannot be taken down for a week waiting for a cylinder. It is also the segment where R-404A's high GWP will eventually force a conversation about substitution. Dairy and frozen-food supply and choosing a refrigerant for cold storage cover both halves.
Ranigunj, and why the address matters
Our shop is at Old Bhoiguda, Ranigunj, in Secunderabad — historically the city's refrigeration and air-conditioning spare-parts market, a few minutes from the Secunderabad and Begum Bazaar trade clusters. Technicians have bought gas, compressors and copper from this quarter for decades, and a good deal of the trade still runs on the assumption that you can collect what you need the same day.
That is deliberately how we operate: gas and accessories on one dispatch, collection from the shop for anyone in the twin cities, and courier or transport dispatch Pan-India for everyone else.
The differentiator worth naming plainly is the licence. We hold ODS seller registration ODS/CS/17/6(12)/2024-OC dated 12.11.2024 from the Ozone Cell, which is what permits lawful R-22 supply for servicing, and which a buyer can verify independently rather than take on trust. Many local sellers of R-22 do not hold it.
Quick answers
Which industrial areas around Hyderabad do you supply?
The pharmaceutical and bulk-drug belt including Jeedimetla, Balanagar, Bollaram, Patancheru, Pashamylaram, Gaddapotharam, Shamirpet and the Medak and Sangareddy corridors, along with Cherlapally, Nacharam, Uppal, Kattedan and Jadcherla, plus the city's data-centre and cold-chain operators. Supply beyond Telangana is Pan-India.
When is refrigerant demand highest in Hyderabad?
March to June. The pre-monsoon hot season pushes systems hardest, which is when marginal equipment fails and servicing top-ups peak. Ordering ahead of that window rather than during it is worth doing.
Are you licensed to supply R-22 in Telangana?
Yes. We hold ODS seller registration ODS/CS/17/6(12)/2024-OC dated 12.11.2024 from the Ozone Cell, MoEFCC. R-22 is supplied for servicing existing equipment; manufacturing new equipment with R-22 has been prohibited in India since 1 January 2025.
