Buying and legality
Can I still buy R-22? Yes, for servicing existing equipment, from a registered seller. What ended on 1 January 2025 was manufacturing new equipment with HCFCs. See Is R-22 banned in India?
Do I need a licence to buy refrigerant? Not for HFCs. For R-22 you sign a buyer declaration under Rule 7 and the seller must hold ODS registration. See your duties as a buyer.
Are R-32 and R-410A banned? No. HFCs are being phased down by quota under Kigali from 2028, which is a cap, not a ban. See are HFCs banned?
Do I need a licence to store cylinders? Above the thresholds in the Gas Cylinders Rules, 2016, yes. See PESO licensing.
Product and selection
What gas does my system take? The nameplate says. If it is unreadable, the old cylinder or the service record will. Never guess from cylinder colour. See types and uses.
Can I put R-410A in an R-22 system? No. R-410A runs roughly 50 to 60% higher pressure and needs POE oil. See R-22 vs R-410A.
What replaces R-22 in an existing system? R-407C is the closest capacity match. R-427A and R-438A are the other mainstream routes. See retrofit options.
Can I top up with a different gas? No. Mixing creates a blend nobody can identify or recover properly. See can you mix refrigerants?
Documents and authenticity
What should come with the cylinder? A GST invoice naming brand and product, the manufacturer's Safety Data Sheet, and for R-22 the seller's ODS registration. See supplier documentation.
How do I know the gas is genuine? Factory seal intact, batch number on the cylinder matching the paperwork, weights that add up, a proper product label. See genuine vs counterfeit.
Do you provide a certificate of analysis? The manufacturer issues it, we pass it through. We are a supplier, not a testing laboratory. See COA and traceability.
Commercial
What does it cost? We do not publish prices. Refrigerant pricing moves with duty, quota and the exchange rate, so a published rate would be stale within weeks. Message us for a live number.
What sizes do you stock? It varies by gas and brand, and it is listed on each product page. Sizes are subject to current stock.
Do you buy back old refrigerant? No. We do not buy back or take old gas, and we do not sell reclaimed refrigerant. See reclamation in India.
Do you deliver outside Hyderabad? Yes, we dispatch across India. Tell us the destination when you enquire.
Quick answers
Do you sell to individuals or only to businesses?
We supply the trade: technicians, contractors, AMC firms, plants and dealers. For a home air conditioner the practical route is a technician, who will have the recovery and charging equipment the job needs.
Do you buy back old refrigerant?
No. We do not buy back or take old refrigerant, and we do not sell reclaimed gas.
Can you supply on the same day?
Often, for stock lines collected from the shop. It depends on the gas, the size and the quantity, so confirm when you enquire.
What are your opening hours?
10:00 am to 7:00 pm at the shop in Ranigunj, Old Bhoiguda, Secunderabad.
